I read that the nations of the North, such as the United States, knew that the money they were lending to developing nations were being used for reasons other than promoting economic development. Do you agree with this view, and if so, why?
Deferment can be authorized for
-economic hardship,
-unemployment,
-military deployment,
-enrollment in school,
-internship,
-national service, and
-similar situations.
Remember if you defer (unless it’s a subsidized Stafford loan) you will continue accruing interest and that interest will be capitalized (added to the principal of your loan) so this can be an expensive option.
If there is any way to repay, it’s best to pay them down as quickly as possible.
If I mark that I am not interested in loans or work study, will that decrease my chances of receiving grants?
These loans are for seasonal businesses such as landscaping etc… that are only performed in the warmer months in the colder climates. You only make payments during the months when there is cash flow and during the winter months where there is little or no cash flow you make no payments.
I need to finish my degree and certification, but it’s impossible for me to work during that time.

We have someone to help co sign but her debt to income ratio is not good eventhough her spouse pays most of her bills. Any suggestions? Our credit is less than perfect so we cannot get approved on our own.
