If a person filed a claim for theft, burglary, or anything of the sort, how do the insurance companies know if they’re lying or not? Even if people provide receipts or pictures, do they go through a process to make sure that the item was purchased by that person? You also have the right to black out any personal information, that way your credit card information will be secure. So what do insurance companies have to work with? If someone’s crafty enough, they can forge receipts, take fake pictures, or find some way to obtain owner’s manuals to provide fake proof.

Been there, done that.
You need to look at the big picture.
EMERGENCY FUND. If you don’t have 6 months of living expenses set aside, don’t do anything else first.
Retirement. You’ve got to get this started. If there is a 401K with a company match, contribute at least enough to get the match.
Credit Cards. Pay these off before you do the student loan (15-30% is way more than your 7% student loan).
When the credit cards are paid off, go back and put 1/3 of the excess money on more savings, the retirement and the student loan. Your student interest rate is one of the lowest interest rates you will ever pay. If you suddenly need to go buy a car at 10-15%, you will wish you had the 7% loan instead….
That said, I paid my student loan off 5 years early. If you are on a sallie mae loan, round the checks up and mail early.
I know lobbying has had an effect on credit laws, but what I am concerned with are the practical and ethical justifications for what seems like inequity. Also how are late fees and penalties not just ways to sidestep the interest rate ceiling.
I bought some things off iTunes and they billed me from my credit card although I have store credit. How can I change this?
Every debt relief company tells me they can’t help me because I have credit union loans from military specific companies. I am no longer enlisted, but it seems the only option I have is bankruptcy which, ironically, I can’t afford because of the new laws requiring upfront payment. Is there a company that can actually help me get back on track? Serious answers only, i.e. don’t waste my time.
I am deciding which company to go with for my life insurance purchase. Wanted to make sure my spouse and child wouldn’t be mistreated by the company should anything happened to me.
Thanks!
Since the repayment doesnt start till 6 months after graduation, I would assume it’s easy to get the loan, am I right on this?
My worst nightmare is to get accepted into a school and not have the private student loan accepted.
I’ve had a bad credit in the past and paid off over $15000 in the past year and a half. In the past year or so my credit score has raised obviously. With my credit score now being around 670,would I be approved for a car loan, personal loan, mortgage or things along those lines? I understand interest fees could be the big if in this matter.
Are there any other pet health care funding organizations? I’ve got some money to invest. Two years ago, a friend with OK credit and not much credit had a sick pet. She ended up financing this on a credit card with 24% interest! The amount was over $2,000. When she told me, I loaned her the money at only 6% interest. She was going to have to make payments of about $78 per month for 3 years. My loan only cost her $72 per month and it took only 2.5 years to pay off. She’s nearly done. Her pet is still fine and she’s not in deep debt for owning and loving a pet…
Surely there’s people out there that will not take advantage of pet owners when they are vulnerable and in need of a loan. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
